黃帝問于岐伯曰：余聞人之合于天地道也，內(nèi)有五臟，以應(yīng)五音、五色、五時、五味、五位也；外有六腑，以應(yīng)六律。
六律建陰陽諸經(jīng)而合之十二月、十二辰、十二節(jié)、十二經(jīng)水、十二時、十二經(jīng)脈者，此五臟六腑之所以應(yīng)天道（也）。
夫十二經(jīng)脈者，人之所以生，病之所以成，人之所以治，病之所以起。Huangdi asked Yu Qibo: I heard that people are in harmony with the way of heaven and earth. There are five internal organs inside to respond to the five tones, five colors, five seasons, five flavors, and five positions; there are six internal organs outside to respond to the six laws.
The six laws establish the yin and yang meridians and combine them into twelve months, twelve hours, twelve nodes, twelve water meridians, twelve o'clock, and twelve meridians. This is why the five internal organs and six internal organs correspond to the way of heaven.
The twelve meridians are the reason why people are born, the reason why diseases occur, and the reason why people are cured are the reasons why diseases arise.
